Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Casimir. I am a 37 year old female with Spina Bifida. I have been married to a wonderful man who is not disabled for almost 12 years. I walked with crutches and braces until I was 12 years old. For the last 25 years, my manual wheelchair has been my way of getting around. Recently I competed in a pageant for women in wheelchairs. I made 1st runner up. I had to do a two minute speech on something I felt very passionate about that concerns the disabled community. I chose the importance of diet and exercise for the disabled community. This topic is very dear to my heart. I have had too many friends with Spina Bifida die in the last 16 years. I believe that some of these deaths could have been prevented if their diets and exercise routines would have been important to them. I hope to educate and inspire those with disabilities to  make diet and exercise an important part of your life. I struggle every day myself with these issues.

Hello world!

I started this blog to give hope to the disabled community when it comes to diet and exercise. Yes, I am overweight and disabled myself. Does that mean I should give up on myself? No! I am here to tell you that just because you are disabled does not mean that you cannot live a long and healthy life. You already have challenges because of your disability. Why make those challenges worse by eating an unhealthy diet and not exercising? If I can do it then anyone can. Don’t give up on yourself.
